Leonard Schneider

Leonard has been licensed for over 30 years and for the past 20 years has practiced Municipal Law by advising Texas cites, economic development corporations and special districts. In addition to his law degree received an MBA in Management and a BA in Journalism.  His goal is to present the governmental and private clients with clear legal advice and options for the client to choose from, while understanding the nuances of management and budgetary concerns.  As a contract city attorney, he is independent from the sometimes, competing political philosophies in governance.

Leonard also served as an Assistant District Attorney for Galveston County in Texas. In this role, he prosecuted both felony and misdemeanor criminal cases and honed his litigation skills with significant time before a judge and jury. He is also responsible for litigation brought by or against the cities he represents, often managing teams of attorneys brought in specifically for each case. In this way, he keeps his litigation skills fresh. His criminal and civil litigation trial experience allows him to give practical and timely advice to clients in civil matters, including business litigation, contracts, breach of contracts, collections, elections, and economic development.

In addition to practicing law, he has instructed business students on ethics and business law as an adjunct professor at two universities.

Leonard and his wife Kari own Copper the Law Dog and two minature dachsunds.  They have two daughters and grandchildren to keep them busy.  Additionally they love exploring Central Texas and keeping up with friends and family.
